Connection refused error, xhost+ help question
I did what a post said to fix the
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server error said it asks to do, xhost + and says it allows anyone to connect to the x session? is that any kind of a security risk? or does it only matter to those in network? (just protected by a router firewall in linux atm.) Anyone know? :) thanks. e4 post ref: well it said I couldnt post url, even though ive been a member for awhile, just havent logged in in ages.. so I dunno let me try to edit it abit just add a ww in front of that w.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=199208&highlight=connection+to+refused+by+server |
if you do an xhost local:0 it only allows non-network local connections to let root start something in X. (IE, if you're running in a multi-user environment, with 5 people logged in.... but not on the net)
