connection, pool error Timeout waiting for idle object for the very first time


I am trying to connect to mysql database using JDBC Connection pool in tomcat,when i run the application i get the following error:

Cannot get a connection, pool error Timeout waiting for idle object

The very first time i run the application in tomcat on linux system
i get Connection pool exhausted error even though the maxIdle and max
Active are set to infinite values

maxActive="0" maxIdle="-1"

please can i one help me how to solve this problem?
