Hello friends,

I am trying to connect a WindowsXP system to Fedora3 system through cross-over cable to run my embedded application. i've defined the IP of both the machines in hosts and lmhosts.sam (in windows) and /etc/host in fedora. but still when i try to connect my application on windows to linux it prompts on windows that

Connection Failed due to: TCP/IP ports not alive !!

please help. thank you beforehand.

can you ping the machines from each other? do you have the software running on the linux box that is listening on the appropriate ports?
