I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and have a problem with empathy (2.27.92). I can call another machine through jabber and both voice and video work fine. However, when I am called, there is no indication that has happened and I don't see any way to open the call. That machine is able to call computers other than mine. I have completely deleted empathy and telepathy (according to synaptic including configuration files) and reinstalled. That hasn't helped. I may not have done that correctly, however, since when I started the new copy, it somehow knew my original contacts (jabber). I don't know if they were saved on the jabber site or if I didn't delete all the configuration files as intended. Help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar w/ empathy & it's not in my SimplyMEPIS 7 repos, how about a link?

The is a ppa site at https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa. It appears to be specifically for Ubuntu, but it might be a good starting point.
