connecting to internet in slackware wireless
 

hi,

I recently installed slackware linux 12.2.

One of the first things i'm trying to do is connect to the internet, my laptop has a built wireless device (broadcom dell 1390)

i'm using KDE 3.5.

searching on the internet I notice this is common problem, and it seems ndiswrapper is recommened. However I can't seem to find a tutorial that is geared towards slackware 12. I did find one with slackware 10, but when I followed it, and tried to do 'make uninstall', 'make', 'make install' etc I got the same [Error 2] or something after each.

I have downloaded the windows drivers and ndiswrapper but am unsure how to proceed. If anyone could tell me, post a guide for slackware 12 i'd appriciate it alot

What I was really hoping for was some kind of guide, that tells me what to download, what to type in the console, etc to get this thing running.

The LQ search functions Link you provided does certainly bring up previous topics on ndiswrapper.

But unless i'm more newb than I thought, alien bobs network guide isn't very beginner friendly, and is more of a general overview guide on how thing work than: get your slackware box connected to the interent on a dell in-built device now kind of guide.

And on the slackware links I couldn't find any guide at all on getting this internal broadcom dell 1390 wireless device working.


I guess if I can't find any guides for slackware 12 on this issue from google then no one can? is there anyone on here using slackware 12 and KDE that got their wireless card working with ndiswrapper etc following some step by step instructions??
