Question Connecting to a wireless router on windows from linux

Hello, I am completely new to Linux, and know nothing about it; so please forgive me if the answer to this question is very obvious or is in the man-pages somewhere that I missed. My question is, is it possible to create a wireless network from a computer running linux to another computer running windows? If the computer with the router that is running windows is the one with an internet connection, is it possible to connect to the internet this way as well?

If so, how do I start to go about doing this? I realize that it probably depends a lot on the specs of the computers, the wireless cards, and the router itself, but is there any easy way to do it?

Once again, please forgive me if I'm missing something really obvious here.

Maybe this will help you:

FWIW, I have my cable modem connected directly to a wireless router and two computers which both connect wirelessly to the router. That is to say, I use "infrastructure" mode, not "Ad-hoc."

My PC runs Linux and wifey's laptop runs Windows. They are both set up to for file & print sharing through the router. I can easily browse file shares from either one. Under Linux, I had to set up Samba in order for Windows to "see" it. I had originally set it up so that my wife could print to the laser printer which is connected to my PC, but I have since added file sharing because it was trivial to add and very handy to have.
