AFAIK there is no software available on Linux with all the functionality of PC Suite. Hence the disagreement in this thread. gnokii offers a subset of PC Suite functionality. If that's all you want then you can use it instead of PC Suite; if not then it's no good for you however well it does the subset tasks.
It would be great if there was a Linux version of PC Suite or something with all its functionality! Only because of this issue do I run WXP in a VirtualBox VM. I feel so strongly about it I'm prepared to help with development but I don't know which of the many part-functionality packages would be best to help with. See Which Linux to cell phone integration software to help develop?
It would be great if nokia decided to port PC Suite to Linux but they haven't despite many requests. See We need PC suite for LINUX
on the nokia forums. That's their prerogative; they make their own business decisions.
My prime reason for buying nokia is PC Suite. If there was another phone with similar PC-phone integration support running under Linux then I'd change phone. If suitable software existed and enough people started switching phones then nokia would have more reason to port PC Suite to Linux but there's no sign of it happening anytime soon.
