connecting linux router to Cisco router ?

Hello, as a learning project I am building a Linux PC router which will intergrate with two other Cisco 1841 routers.
I want to interconnect them via the serial interfaces of the Cisco routers . Cisco routers use WIC-1T or WIC-2T serial ports.
Has anyone done this before ?
If so, what sort of PCI card will I need to install in my Linux router box to enable this ? Do I need any sort of special cable ?

Thanks for any advice.

n.b the reason I want to connect the Linux and Cisco routers via serial is to simulate a real-world WAN link. That is why I am not using ethernet to connect them.

I think this would be better off in the Hardware section. Mods?

Basically you may have it already. Any lpt or com port could be used. Be sure to have a special cable and correct ends.

If you don't have it then quite a number of add on cards could be used. Any that fit your budget, and is supported by linux and matches the cisco port would be OK.
