Red face

Bit of an Odd problem I have got my Linux system up an running on Mandrake 7.1 and used KPP to set up an internet connection this appears to work OK and connects to my ISP

But if I try to use Netscape as my browser it tells me that the server is unknown or has not been found regardless of what address I type in. I think I must have missed a step somewhere or I need to set up a config file or some such
nothing in any of the docs seems to fit

Anyone else had this problem and know the solution please?

I suggest it's your firewall.

I don't have a firewall set up at least not to my knowledge
unless there is some sort of default (can't think there would be) as I am not trying to set up as a server (yet)

The only other possibilities I can think of is A: My ISP doesn't work with netscape
b: Some DNS type config entries are wrong or some such
somewhere

The log indicates that the modem has connected and that data has been transfered in both directions

Use linux config, control tab, click turn off firewalling and see what gives.
