confused-postfix


why does postfix adds the domain name in the from address for outgoing mail?
always thoughtthe MUA was responsible for that. i researched it. and it is. why the redundncy?

postfix is doing the right thing, it should not be sending unqualified addresses on to the internet, thats why the domain name gets appended, but look at the config options you can turn that off if you want.
