confused in choosing a distribution for my laptop


I m a beginer to linux and i am confused about choosing a distribution.
I heard that red hat enterprise is the most widely used but you have to
pay for it .I want to choose a distribution which is free and also the website from where I can download the ISO images.

Hi Utkarsh,

You can try Ubuntu linux. This is one of the best linux distro for Laptop. Other options are Mandriva, Open Suse, Debain .....

I use Fedora, because it's positioned as a sort of "consumer" distro, but it also includes lots of tools hackers like me would need.
