Question confused about MRTG installation


Hello every1 hope doing well

I would like to install MRTG server but i am confused about SNMP server . i mean before installing or configuring MRTG do i really need a SNMP server or module? .. if yes please some one explain why?

Yes, You need SNMPd

These are the snmp modules that i am using

net-snmp-perl-5.3.2.2-7.el5
net-snmp-libs-5.3.2.2-7.el5
net-snmp-utils-5.3.2.2-7.el5
net-snmp-5.3.2.2-7.el5
net-snmp-devel-5.3.2.2-7.el5
