configuring x
I have only been using linux for 6 months now and i am having trouble configuring x on my new computer
I have a P4 1.8 with a geforce 4 mx440 and i am using slackware 8 with kernal version 2.2.19 I have tried to configure x using the xf86config command but x will not start i have also downloaded the drivers from nvidia and compiled these drivers during the compling there was an error and it did not continue. Can someone help me please |
Hi,
You could run xf86config without using X: # xf86config -textmode or if you want to use that Nvidia drivers, you could post the compile errors or put the error message in google to search for the same problem ... |
Not sure if this applies to GF4 since I only have a TNT 2,but don't use framebuffers when it asks you during x config.
