configuring WDM with XF86Free options

How do I pass option -ignoreABI to wdm or KDE?

I wish to boot to KDE, but my driver has ABI versioning problems with my Xfree86 version.

startx -- -ignoreABI seems to work after installing Xfree86 rpm packages into my red hat advanced server 2.15 u3 install. Red Hat Adv Server 2.15 disks include Xfree86 4.2.0 only.

I am using savage 1.1.26t driver for my P4M266 card requiring ProSavageDDR support. I expect I can solve it by upgrading Xfree to 4.3.0 but want to minimise configuration for other administrators who must own system. Surely passing this option is simple but I can not see any simple edits in scripts such as setup script in /etc/X11/wdm.

It is only my second linux install so I expect answer is easy.

Any references on any related howto most welcome.
