Configuring up2date service

I am having trouble accessing the Red Hat service to install update.

I have RHAT 5.4 installed.

I ran rhn_register command

and got this error.

We can't contact the Red Hat Network Server. │
│ │ ─┐
│ Double check the location provided - is │
│ 'https://xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com/XMLRPC' correct? │ │
│ If not, you can correct it and try again. │ │
│ │ │
│ Make sure that the network connection on this │ │
│ system is operational. │ │
│ │ │
│ This system will not be able to successfully │ │
│ receive software updates from Red Hat without │ │
│ connecting to a Red Hat Network server

Is there anything I need to do or configure to get access to the update service.

I am using a firewall and have allowed access to and added these addresses to my hosts file.

209.132.183.44 xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com
184.51.16.218 content-xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com
69.192.138.169 content-web.rhn.redhat.com
184.85.254.217 content-satellite.rhn.redhat.com

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

There are many, many variables that we don't know in this particular instance. You say "firewall", but we don't know what kind, where, or how it's configured.

The best way for you to get this resolved, would be to call RedHat support (since you're paying for it with your RHEL subscription), and get them to help you.
