Configuring Redhat as Domain Controller and adding windows workstations as clients


i need to configure Redhat Linux as Domain Controller in my organisation, whee all of my clients PC's will be Windows XP or Windows 7 ( where i can login through Domain users ). what exactly i need to configure in Redhat Linux, i heard Configuring Samba as PDC is quite enough ? is that right ? then what is Open LDAP ? should i need to Configure Open LDAP also ?

Configure samba as PDC will complete your requirement. As par as use of openldap is concern samba+ldap can also be configured as PDC, but it require a bit more effort. samba+ldap setup has its own advantage the major advantage of samba+ldap setup is openldap can be configured for replication.

thanks vishesh, one more query

thanks for you reply, even i was thinking to configure Samba as PDC. just i was confused about open ldap. can i know how well openladp work's. what exactly replication mean ? is that like raid replication ( securing data, clustering ). even i heard ldap authentication is better than samba PDC. As samba PDC will be slower,while adding windows workstratios as clents to Redhat Domain. how can an employee change his password at client PC after loging in, is that posible in samba PDC setup.
