configuring mta without domain
I haven't used mail on my debian server (no kde or gnome installed) until now. Now I need to send mail (I have a script in perl that has to send mails in some occasions) but I don't know anything about that. I don't have a domain name, just an e-mail account whit my isp, how can I set up postfix or any other mta?
Help please |
if it's just sending, install bsmtp, esmtp or ssmtp, whatever is in apt. they are fake MTA's and just provide enough functionality to send mail out to a relay from the local system and permitted relay sources. they are a doddle to configure, if you even need to configure them at all.
