configuring modem
im running kde, im trying to set up my modem, in the menu it give me a choice of 4 ports ssy0, or what ever up to ssy3 my modem is on ssy4 and i was wondering if there is any way configure it to select that port.
much thanks -umpa |
When you setup a dialup connection, there is a tab to configure the device and a drop-down menu within that in which you can pick which port (ttyS*) to use. This is about the same in Gnome as well I believe. Just pick which one you wanna use and it'll use that one.

ya on the drop down menu it only goes ttyS3 and i know for a fact that my modem is on ttyS4, so how do i get that. being that ttyS4 is not an option on the pull down menu?
thanks for your help -umpa |
