Configuring KMAIL

How do I get KMail to appear on the desktop for use. I opened and configured it in KDE Configurations but cannot locate it.

Kmail should be in the /usr/sbin. If not sure open a terminal and type
locate kmail
to find it. Then you should be able to right click on the desktop and use "create new"
then "link to application" and fill in the info on the general tab, select an icon for it. Under the execute tab fill in /usr/sbin/kmail or the location of it determined by "locate" then click ok and you are done.

good luck

When go into terminal and type 'locate kmail' the message is command not found. When I go into usr/bin I have found something that say Kmail service but this does not appear to be a file. It does not open. It looks like the little wheel behind the 'K' in the KDE emblem.

Kmail should be in the "Internet" section of Kicker, (the "K" on the gear where the win start button is), if you right click the panel and select "Add > Button" you can navigate to Kmail and place a button that will launch kmail on the panel that you can move to either side.
