Configuring FTP

Hi All,

I am new here so please bare with me and if I violated any forum rules, please advise me as to what I should do to correct them.

Ok, first thing. I am new using Centos and have many questions regarding configurations.

I am learning how to set up a server via the shell (terminal?)

I already set up my LAMP server

> Install Centos 6
> YUM Install Httpd etc, etc

So I was able to install apache and get the site to work on localhost > edit index.html and moved it over to /var/www/html/ which all worked.

So what I want to do next is set up an FTP server. > Use ProFTPD, add user Ted, upload files and be able to see them on a website.

I did the YUM install Proftpd, and YUM install FTP.
Then, I added a user Ted > username Ted, passwd password

I was wondering how do I configure Proftpd so that I can add the user Ted, and be able to upload files and see them on the website.

Thank you in advance

Yes, you violated one unwritten forum rule: Never ask people to get naked in front of a computer to answer questions in a technical forum. ;-)
