Configure video camera Ubuntu 9.04


I have a SoC PC-Camera that works very well with windows. I cannot find any information explaining how to get Unbuntu 9.04 to recognize it. Please help.

search spca


Your driver module is gspca_pac207

install it

Thanks much for this info, however, i'm very much a newbie and i'm not sure how to acquire or install the module you suggested.. Can you explain? I would appreciate it very much.

Install it with package manager... it is a GUI

Enable restricted repositories.
update sources
right click on package ---> select install ---> apply

On the Ubuntu site you will find fine details (google for 'synaptic Ubuntu')

The module will be loaded automatically.

#sudo modprobe gspca_pac207
<your pass word>
is for loading the module.

#lsmod

lists all the loaded modules

You need to configure your camera with a suitable application...Cheese webcam ..., F-spot Photo manager, etc
