configure in POWERPC or SPARC

Hi Everybody,

I am trying to compile a library on SPARC/POWERPC machine and I get the same error on both

"

checking if gcc supports -M -MF to create dependency lists... no
> configure: error: Flags -M -MF are required to get paths of included header files."

I basically have a profiling libary and I am trying to compile it with configure command. When the configure script runs, I get the above error message.

If anyone is aware of the reason, please do help.
