configure grub :


how do i configure grub ( i don't want to boot the kde desktop)?

Well grub doesn't control whether you boot to the Desktop Environment(runlevel 5). What exactly are you trying to do?

i don't want to start the graphical enviroment @ boot

but i still want it to be available when i type it at the terminal

and how do you make a bootmenu with grub?

Edit /etc/inittab file and change run level. Edit this line:
id:5:initdefault:
to
id:3:initdefault:

BTW You need to be logged in as root to edit the file.
