configure: error: The important program kde-config was not found!

I'm trying to install tork from source code (downloaded as "tork-0.31.tar.bz2" file) in my newly installed Mandriva 2010. After extracting as I run "./configure && make && make install" it gives following:- checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking for -p flag to install... yes checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for kde-config... not found configure: error: The important program kde-config was not found! Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.:scratch: I have newly switched from XP to Linux, not yet feeling at home... Please help. Thanks in advance. |
Mandriva uses KDE 3.x, and Tork probably depends on KDE 4. Try upgrading KDE and see if that helps; if not, you may have to compile KDE 4.5 from source.

Mandriva 2010 uses KDE 4.3.x. So version should not be a problem. Can there be any other reason? KDE 4.5 is still not stable. (it will be by August they say). In that case I think I'll have to wait till August!:( Thanks again. |
