How did you burn the Fedora disks?
|
If anyone can help me , and get me through this, it would be great?
|
Yes it would, wouldn't it? Can you answer the question so maybe we can try to help?
Also, did you download CD images or DVDs? Do you have a CD drive or a DVD drive? Have you booted this machine off of CD before? Did the ISOs download successfully and do the md5 sums match with what Fedora provides? Edit: I see you PMed me, please don't do that. You must burn the ISOs to disk using a CD burning program. "Burn Image", do not burn it like a normal file. Do not unzip the ISOs. |
I am don't know relly, i went to fedora project and downloaded the six loadable disc. They had a dvd version, so I know i got the disk. I also have a dvd+rw/cd+rm drive I downloaded them on.IONly choices it gave before download was iso or all file, which should I have selected. thanks for your time

I also have power 2 go and it is telling me not a valid image file. where do I load the image files for fedora 10?
|
The six "iso" files you downloaded are the images you need.
As AlucardZero asked, the important question is how these files were written to CD. What program did you use? If you used something like Nero, you have to select "Disk Image or Saved Project" - other programs will probably have something slightly different but the magic words are "Disk Image". If you simply copy the files to CD, it won't work but once you have written each ISO as an image, you should find your computer, set to boot from the CD (as you have done) will boot up happily and then - just follow the prompts. Good luck. John |
