Compression Utilities

does anyone know which compression utility can decrompress a self-extracting .exe rar or zip archive?
i know UPX can, but i don't know how to use it at all. i downloaded the tar-gz file and extracted the folder. then i was supposed to use in the konsole, "upx -d file.ext" but it says "bash: command not found"

Sounds like upx is not in your path.
Either move/link it to somewhere in your path eg. /usr/local/bin
or use the full path before the command eg. /home/username/upx/upx
(or whatever..)

thx, i tried that, but it says

NotPackedException: not packed by UPX

they are self-extracting archives from WinRAR or winzip

so now i downloaded and use WinRar linux version, and it's working

but on the website it says it's a trial version of 40 days
although it says in the help command that it is a Shareware version

I wonder if something would come up after 40 days of trial, becuz i can't find a way to check how many days it has been used
