Completely New to Mailing Lists

Wow I feel stupid, but I really have never used one. What software do I need to use them and how do I sign up to them?

If you're talking about a regular everyday mailing list, you don't need anything other than an email address and your standard means of retrieving email from same. As for signing up, just go to the site's sign-up page and follow their directions.

what about like the lklm?

binarybob0001 06-06-2007 12:52 AM

OK, that was easy. Thanks.

One other thing what does this mean?
Would you like to receive list mail batched in a daily digest?

vtel57 06-06-2007 02:12 AM

A daily digest is one email with a bunch of recent posts.

Same thing. It's just an email list. Read more about it HERE. Some email lists are closed, meaning you can only read, not post. Others allow reading and posting.

OK, one other question. I decided to get my mailing list as batched in daily digest. How do I reply to someone to someones specific question or post?

vtel57 06-19-2007 12:47 AM

I don't know, honestly, Bob. I've never used batch digests on lists before. :(

binarybob0001 06-19-2007 02:09 PM

Well, I guess I will just have to figure it out on my own. Thanks vtel57.

You ought to drop the list admin a brief email asking about this, Bob. Admins are usually very helpful about stuff like this.

Luck!
