Ok,
I am completely new to linux, and I would love a personal tutor. lol ok good luck on that one, hehe, how about a few questions asked. Like, how do I burn music to my library? And I put in a cd to install a new program, but I cant get it to install. I open it, click on install exe, but I cant get it to start. somebody please help this blonde who is running from windows as fast as she can.

Why did you add this post to this thread? I've asked the mods to split it off.

Anyway, are you trying to install Windows software in Linux? You can't get Windows software to run natively under Linux and if you do want to use it, then you'll need something like WINE. Alternatively, find a Linux equivalent for the software you want to use.

What do you mean by "burn music to my library"? Do you mean, for example, you want to know how to burn MP3s to CD (or rip CDs to MP3 for that matter)?

hardly got your arse chewed, you asked a question, and there isn't really enough info to help you so Nylex is trying to get the required info :)

It's always a bit weird starting a new OS but you'll soon get the hang of it, and there is plenty of material on this site to help

good luck

One starting point could be to fill in your distribution and release information.
One of these simple things that makes it easier for people to help you (help yourself).

People here are usually short and to the point. You learn to get used to it :)
