Complete Newb

I just ordered an unmanaged dedicated server with no software(such as cpanel) running Fedora Core 1. The only information I recieved after I signed up was the IP and root password.

I assumed I could follow instructions to install what software I needed (heck, that's how I usually work,) but I can't even figure out how to login.

Can anyone help me?

have you tried (from your command line)
ssh root@xx.xx.xx.xx

there must be something installed... but it might not be much more than a shell.
can you ping the ip address?
how about
http://xx.xx.xx.xx
to see whether there's a web server running?

doesn't whoever sold it to you have any docs at all?
seems like cool, though.
