Hi cshank4,

I'm no Mac expert, in fact I've only ever seen one in the shops, but try this link, it seems to show how to do the whole ISO image on a Mac using OS X Disk Utility which I guess is part of the Mac OS?

Good Luck cshank4, let us know how it goes or if you need more help. I cut my Linux teeth on Mandrake 9.2 before moving on to Slackware and I'm just sat around on days off at the moment (it's about 10am over here) cruisin' the forums so I'll keep a look out for your posts.

Well, it's in. Cleared my entire PC hard-drive (All I had on it was Windows and games).

I got WINE installed, easier then I thought.

I did notice some things, my videocard seems to be a little blurry, I figure it's just because I need to download new Drivers. My sound Card won't work, again, I bet it's just drivers. I'll fix all the stuff tomorrow.

Thanks for your help!

A question on WINE though, how well does it Emulate? (Could I put Half-Life 1 on it? Guild Wars?)

Well done and welcome to Linux !

Like you say it's probably some drivers you need, I'd try googling for say 'mandrake driver rpm xxxxxxx' xxxxxxx being either your video card or sound card and you'll doubtless find what you need. If I remember Mandrake has the 'Mandrake Control Center' for dealing with all that.

I'll have to leave your question on WINE to someone else, I've never used it.

Alright, WINE's site confirmed that GW works with it as does HL1 (Though steam is stupid.)

But oh well. Here goes nothing.

good luck w/ yer new adventure. Im pretty much where you'll be after you install yer os. Im running rh9. I tried during the install to make a separate home directory and really @$#&^ it up. i tried to do it during the gui install and could'nt figure it out. I left most of the HD unpartitioned and figured i'd do it later. i tried using parted, but wound up wipin the whole thing and starting over, not makin a separate partition for home (although it IS a good idea).

burning ISO- open yer cd burning sw and find a menu/command to create disk from image. browse to yer iso and you should be good...
