Compiz wont let me use my effects

ok i just installed compiz with yum install compiz* and i went to my desktop thing under system and i clicked enable effects but i get a screen that says cannot enable effects is it because of my graphics card or the hardware in my computer or what?

Try adding compiz to System > Preferences > Session and log out.

Press on Add and fill out:
Name: compiz
Commmand: compiz
Comment (optional): whatever you like
Make sure that the box is checked before you log out
