compillation error


Hi ,
Pls help me , while installing httpd-2.0.50 on RH-9 2.4.20-8 ,
when i run #./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2
the following error throws, if any one faced the same can help me.

Ha, not to sure myself, but isn't that what you'd get, if you have the wrong, or a different version of gcc than the version that's used to produce the package ?

Just a thought!

You need to install basic development packages e.g libc-devel.

I had a similar problem installing a modem driver on a brand new box, because I set up it up box without the development tools

(from memory)

glibc-devel-x.x.x
glibc-headers-x.x.x
kernel-headers-x.x.x

I think this should help you.

(For some reason I couldn't get these to install from the source RPM's so I ended up re-installed the entire OS as a Workstation )
