Compiling the Kernel for Fedora

Greetings all. First, thank you to those of you who responded to my previous question. It turns out that I had to put in the Primary and Secondary DNS Server addresses for my ISP. Once that was done, I was able to get online. Thank you to mikedeatworld for that information. None of my Linux for Dummies books mentioned that. Second, I'm having an issue installing Macromedia Flash on my machine. I get the install portion done and everything says that it is installed. However, when I go to restart my PC and boot back into Fedora, the flash doesn't work. I try accessing sites that use flash and the message I get is that the plug in needs to be installed. So, now that I've "installed" it as per Linux, do I have to compile the kernel when that is done?

hmmm. no, you shouldn't need to recompile the kernel to get a flash plugin to work properly, you should however make sure it's installed in the proper place

99% of the time, recompiling the kernel is NOT your problem :) . if i remember right, the flash installer puts the plugins in a folder that might not be your web browser's plugin folder! Solution: find that folder and move the files to the right one.
