commands
Hi All
Can you help I'm a complete novice with Linux Red Hat version 7.2 I know its an old version but its part of my degree course. I have the following that I need to understand can anyone help. Please 1.Which comman is used to change groups after a user has logged into a system? 2.Also which command is used to peform a low-level format? 3. which file system is recommended for a Linux hard disk partition to be used for applications and data? 4. which directories contain most of linux system log files? Any help would be much appreciated. |
What books and references are you using in the course? You will find answers to your questions in just about any Linux introductory text.
Regardless, got to http://tldp.org and get the Bash Guide for Beginners. Also, some quick Google searches will find most of what you are asking. You can get help with homework here, but you have to show evidence of your own work. |

http://dhavalv.wordpress.com/2007/10...ilesystem-fhs/ (its got a nice picture!) and http://www.pathname.com/fhs/ and then that question should seem trivial. |
Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Newbie and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.
