I enter "ls" get list in blue enter " Pictures" = enter goes back to $ promt i have read all sites for tutorials and i am not able to move about

I am not really sure what you are asking here, but the "cd" command is used to move to another directory.

If you are talking about changing the directory then MS3FGX already given you the command: cd

If you mean something else then please explain.
