How to move about the file system ... I know how Dos works I just am looking for Commands for Linux.

I also am looking for How to install software. Where it installs to.
ect.. ect.. also like how to open a .TGZ file I checked out the glossary already not much help ... Look for explanations. IE exe is an excitable and .dll is a driver file blah blah blah..... This does this and don't do this......

I am doing all my work at root so far.

I am working on Samba for File Share (I hope to Mount Network drives with This. {correct me if I am Wrong} )

Working on setting up a Pure Linux Client/Server Network. Samba as PDC with a Little help from Novell and Calderas Net-ware Client, to possible Merge with our current Network in the future.

Well to start out, to become a contributing member helps the site out, so I say its worth it if your gonna stick around for awhile. Shoot, some members have contributed and never have posted, they just use the vast amount of info here. We also have a search function that comes in handy as out of almost 100,000 posts. You don't think your the first to ask how to install Software on Linux do you...
The glossary is fairly new, so there isn't much there yet but were working on it, if you don't see something that might be helpful in the glossary, let a Moderator or Jeremy know.
And to let you know, the best resource in knowing how to install software is usually with the software, almost all of them will have a README and INSTALL file to get you on your way.
