Question Command history?

Hey,

I just installed Debian Sarge. In Mandrake 10 (which is what I used before), at the command line you could hit Page Down and it would display the last command you typed. In Debian, when I push Page Down the comp beeps and displays a '~'. I've tried using both bash and tcsh, but it does the same on both. What am I missing?

It makes the same beep sound. But this time no '~' Any other ideas? I guess I'll try every key on the keyboard to see if one of them works.

Gah! I had tried the left/right arrows, not the up/down arrows! The up/down ones work. Thx for the help!
