Talking Colordepth Question

Ok, I noticed that some of my games like 16 colordepth and some like 24 colordepth. Is there a way to setup my XF86Config so that with a simple key-combination I can change my colordepth while in X? Or do I have to edit it manually then restart X?

There is an option to change resolution configuration with Ctrl+Alt++/-, and if you only alter the colour depth between two adjacent configs, that should work

So would I have to put both colordepths in there? How would that look?
