CnMbook-can't get online

Hi,
I received a CnMbook for xmas. It seems that I have connected WiFi to my home broadband is showing connected and an IP address, but when I try to browse it is saying that FireFox cannot find the server. Does anyone have any ideas about what I need to do to get online? Thankyou. Any help much appreciated

Hi, welcome to LQ,

I don't know what a CnMbook is (referring to Google it has something to do with Windows :cry: ).

could you please post the IP-cofiguration of the computer?
Do you connect to the internet via a proxyserver?
Is there a DNS-server configured for your system?

Well, please open a terminal and enter the command
