clueless with USB - mandrake 9.1


help!

never having used USB, i haven't a clue.

i have a marantz recording deck that hooks to my machine via USB.

i have absolutely no idea what to do to get my wav files off the deck and on to my machine. do i need to mount? then what? yikes.

any suggestions?

If the deck is recognized as a mass storage device then you would mount it as /dev/sda1 (probably). If not then I wouldn't know.

Check MDK control center hardware GUI to see if the deck is detected.
You can look at the output the console command dmesg to see if there are any messages on the device.
