clicking and clapping. on Ubuntu


Greetings:

My brothers pc is running ubuntu and for some reason ever once in a while he hears clapping and some clicking (how this got on I do not know) but does any one know a way to tun it of (save turning the sound or pc of lol). Also how do you reset the task bar to it original parameters?

probably somebody's obnoxious flash ad is appearing on a web browser and making noise. Solution is to block all that junk, except for specific cases where you choose to accept it. How to block is browser dependent, desktop dependent, and distro dependent.
