click and clone option in g4l (Ghost For Linux)
Today I managed to get cdrecord to work on the
g4l boot.iso file. Since I am using 2 drives I have some questions. First thing that got me on the right track was cdrecord dev=ATAPI -scanbus rather than scsi. So with the right drive type and address I could excute the correct burn command. # cdrecord dev=ATAPI:0,1,0 -eject -v -data -tao speed=12 boot.iso Once the drive loaded the program I saw the option to click and clone which would work the best for me. 1.) The boot drive is 15 gig and the dump drive is 5 gig. Both have Fedora Core 2 installed with just all the defaults of a stand alone install routine. Are there problems using click and clone in g4l to use the 15, make the image and dump to the 5g? 2.) I have had some cautions about accidentally using the wrong drive designators in g41. g4i shows hda hda1 hda2 hda* all detected The caution was that the source drive could be overwritten along with the target drive. So bailed until I know which of the detected drives would be the source drive. So am I safe with selecting the first detected drive in the queue? I am also going to locate the instructions at the site and print them. lon@athenet.net |
