hi i have a laptop that has suse 9.1 and i was wonder how do you clear the history?

If you mean in the file manager called Konqueror, then you right click in the white space and select Clear History. In the older versions, I think it was empty contents.

There is also another history thingy on the left side where there are a bunch of icons going down the page. That one is a little different than the first method.
