Clearing cache memory
As suggested here: ,

Cache memory can be cleared using:
echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

But "/proc/sys/vm/" has read only permissions even for root.

How can I create the concerned file......???/

This tunable was added in 2.6.16.
What is your kernel level.

hmm.....BTW my Kernel is is there any other way to clear the cached memory that is displayed by "free -m" ??

What say you describe the problem you believe you have rather than attacking a potentially irrelevant possible symptom.
