clean up /etc/security/opasswd

I have /etc/security/opasswd to check past 5 passwords for a user. But when the user is deleted by userdel command, the opasswd still keep the user's info, the user is not removed from opasswd. How to clean up opasswd file? If I don't clean it, will it keep growing? How big the file can be?

Thanks.

grep for the username (first field) or UID (second field) and remove that single line.

Yes, but I assure you nobody will hear it scream.

amount of users that have opasswd entries * 400.
400 seems to be the per user limit of hashes it logs, IIGC.
