Clarkconnect and Forum/ Lotus Domino

Hi,

I use Clarkconnect. I was looking for a forum to work on clarkconnect. But all I find is PhpBB and that works with a database behind it. If anyone has a suggestion on how I can solve this or do this, you are mostly welcome.... :D

Further since the database (mySQL? how?) seemed not easy to me, I looked further and found a cool forum based on Lotus Notes. If I want to use this, I need a Lotus Domino server running on my clarkconnect web server.
I am now trying to install it, but I must do something wrong. I can't seem to get the install file run.... How could I do that? I am trying in command line, but all I get is 'No such file or directory'.

Anyway, all I want is my own forum to run on Clarkconnect, with or without Lotus Domino. All suggestions regarding to my -small?- issue are very welcome since I really am a newbie to this all.

Thanks !

domino

Hello

I am trying to install domino on RH9 and getting the same error with the init.ini file. I've been on the notes website and they say to update all glibs. This works for some people. You could also try updating the kernel.

good luck

Yikes! ... Getting mySQL running with forum software isn't all that difficult with ClarkConnect. Just get the mySQL RPMs from the site, install them.. install the php-mysql RPM, and update your PHP rpms.

I've setup Envolution with their Arena Forum module on a clarkconnect server several times now.. It's nearly as easy to setup PHPBB2 on that server as well.

I'm sure those would be much easier in the long run that trying to get some Lotus stuff integrated.

If you know how to do it, can you help me a little then?

You say I have to:
Just get the mySQL RPMs from the site, install them.. install the php-mysql RPM, and update your PHP rpms.

Where, what, example, help?

I am a real newbie so if you have some site links to where I can find more information, then I will be very happy. Where can I find the Arena module on the envolution site????

But I already dropped the lotus thing.....
But just don't know what to do.......

Download all the
mysql*.rpm, php*.rpm
from the ClarkConnect FTP server
You'll also need to download the php-mysql*.rpm, but they don't appear to have it on their site... So get it from ftp.rpmfind.net

Get those on installed on your clarkconnect machine.
Now you're environment is ready to install something like Envolution or PHPBB2. Download whichever you choose and follow their INSTALL instructions. They both have excellent support forums as well... But, if you follow the instructions provided with either of them, you should be all set.

Or you can use apt4rpm...go to console "alt+f2" then typ apt-get install mysql hope that helps ^^
