clamd.conf

I've installed clamav on my fc4 machine and was wondering if someone could help me with the clamd.conf file.

Are there a minimum set of options that need to be uncommented for the daemon and freshclam to run locally?

Should i uncomment the options discussed in the clamd.comf(5) man?

If someone could post a bare essentials clamd.conf file it would be really helpful.

Thx

okay....can anybody help me here at all?

Clamscan works but freshclam will not.

I get.....

Here are both my clamd and freshclam conf files.

try klamav, its a nice kde gui to manage clamav. I know some people don't like GUIs but this one makes it a lot easier as i found clamav to be a pain to configure and run.

deleted/ 01-02-2006 02:15 PM

I'm using gnome so i found clamtk and installed this. From here i tried to update the signatures but still get the

Code:

ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc/freshclam.conf. ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc/clamd.conf. ERROR: Can't parse the config file /etc/clamd.conf
Can anyone please point me in the right direction this is driving me insane.

jollyjoice 01-02-2006 02:18 PM

hmm, do you need to comment out a line in that to tell it that its not an example?

This is mine:
