Exclamation clamav+windows based virus


Dear friends ,

I have a linux based mail server with sendmail and clamav . But I am not sure what is the purpose of clamav / malscanner third party tools for Linux ? Is it help to protect windows based / windows mail based virus Like rontokbro virus,win32 virus etc ?

Plz let me now , I want to protect windows based / mail based virus using clamav or mailscanner . Is it possible ?

Yes, that is the basic idea. You would run an anti-virus scanner to any MS viruses from spreading from your server to a windows network.

Well, you could use one of those that tend to come with Linux distributions, such as Clamav. Alternatively, you can look at Anti-Virus products that are made by companies that also build commercial Anti-virus solutions for windows: Avast, Antivir,F-Prot.
