Here are notes for installing on Fedora 9. All instructions below require you to be root.

* Install kernel headers.

yum install kernel-devel

Verify you're running the same version as your installed headers - compare /usr/src/kernel to output of

uname -r

* Download vpnclient-linux-2.6.24-final.diff and put it in /usr/src/
* Download vpnclient-linux-x86_64-4.8.01.0640-k9.tar.gz and put it in the same dir

[root@localhost:/usr/src]# tar -xzf vpnclient-linux-x86_64-4.8.01.0640-k9.tar.gz
cd vpnclient
patch < ../vpnclient-linux-2.6.24-final.diff
./vpn_install
/etc/init.d/vpnclient_init start

* edit the .pcf (connection profile)

Finish the install with the following steps:

DNS fixes

* Edit your /etc/resolv.conf to contain the your local domain and nameserver and add search domains:

domain qpass.corp
nameserver [nameserver 1]
nameserver [nameserver 2]
search [local domains separated by space - ex: myspace.com google.com]

* edit your /etc/hosts file

* run it

vpnclient connect [name of profile file]
