I'm not sure about fixing your issue, but have you considered using Chrome instead?

As I understand it Chromiunm no longer supports Adobe Flash (and/or other Adobe) video.
If you can - suggest you enjoy the less laggy and generally more advert_free version you see before they are dumped.

Have you installed pepper-flash? Chromium uses that instead of flash-plugin. it is pepperflashplugin-nonfree in the software center

davidrjones1066 09-08-2014 06:50 PM

thanks, pepperflashplugin-nonfree in the software center isnt available in ububnu 12.4,tried it, it works in 14.04, but i dont want to use 14.04....cheers

ps, have also tried installing it in terminal from a site i found, dosnt work in 12.4...thanks

You can install google chrome from the main site Google Chrome. Download the deb and double click it. Should open in software center. I used it when I had 12.04.

Sorry about misreading your initial post the first round, and suggesting something you tried....too much of a hurry.

I was referring to the HTML5 versions currently allowing you to block adverts. Somehow I can't see Google allowing that to work forever. I know those who are aware of AdBlock will likely always be a minority but I still thing when that minority becomes significant enough Google will work around it.
